Unable to connect to the mail account. Check the host, username and password - Workflow error Fix

The error message "Unable to connect to the mail account. Check the host, username and password" occurs mostly when the username or password is wrong. But sometime we might encounter this issue even while passing the correct username and password. Please perform the following action to fix the issue.

Login to the workflow mailer account and make sure no mails are present in the Inbox when trying to configure the workflow mailer. Cause if there is any mail present in the workflow then that might caused the issue with the Inbound process which will block the workflow mailer to login. Try to log in to the workflow mailer after moving the mail in the Inbox to some other folder.

If you face the issue even after clearing the Inbox , then the issue might due the IMAP blocking the login. This happens mostly with the Gmail imap account  because Gmail considers Workflow login request as Attacker try to use the Less Secure Apps to login to the mail account. So it blocks the login from the Workflow mailer.

Solution to the problem is enable LSA(Less Secure Apps) in google imap account setting of the mail account.

You can  verify whether LSA is enabled for your imap Gmail account using the following URL.

https://myaccount.google.com/lesssecureapps

If it is disable, please enable  should fix the issue
